Martina Gallegos came from Mexico and lived in Altadena and Pasadena until high school. Then he moved to Oxnard and attended community college. She entered California State University, Northridge, where she received her teacher’s degree, and taught in the same district for almost eighteen years. He suffered a work injury followed by a stroke, but resumed his master’s degree after hospitalization, and graduated in June 2015.
Martina’s works have appeared in Altadena Poetry Review, Hometown Pasadena, Central Coast Poetry Shows, Poets Responding to SB1070, Enough !, Silver Birch Press and others. She lives in Oxnard, California with her brother, kitten and two lovebirds.
